Overview
An offbeat East Sikkim journey along the historic trade road to Tibet. Expect thirty-two hairpin bends stacked into a hillside, an unbroken Kanchenjunga panorama at sunrise from Thambi View Point, and warm village homestays rather than hotels. Best from March to June and again from September to December.

Detailed Itinerary
6 days, planned end to end
- Day 1
NJP / Bagdogra to Aritar
Drive via Rongli into the Aritar valley. Overnight in a homestay.
- Day 2
Aritar to Zuluk
Visit Lampokhari Lake and Mankhim, then climb to Zuluk (10,100 ft). Overnight Zuluk.
- Day 3
Zuluk to Nathang Valley
Sunrise at Thambi View Point, then Lungthung, Nathang Valley, Kupup Lake, Elephant Lake and the Old Baba Mandir. Overnight Nathang or Zuluk.
- Day 4
Transfer to Gangtok
Descend via Tsomgo Lake into Gangtok. Evening free. Overnight Gangtok.
- Day 5
Gangtok local sightseeing
Monasteries, view points and the handicraft centre. Overnight Gangtok.
- Day 6
Departure
Transfer to NJP or Bagdogra.
