Overview

Our most-booked North Sikkim circuit, run on a shared-vehicle basis so solo travellers and small families get the same itinerary at a fraction of the private-cab cost. You cover the three headline sights of the state (Tsomgo Lake with Baba Mandir, Gurudongmar Lake at 17,800 ft, and the Yumthang Valley of Flowers) with comfortable, oxygen-friendly overnight halts at Lachen and Lachung.

Detailed Itinerary

6 days, planned end to end

Day 1
Arrival at NJP / Bagdogra, transfer to Gangtok
Meet our representative at NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport and drive 4 to 5 hours through the Teesta river valley to Gangtok (5,500 ft). Evening free at MG Marg. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 2
Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir and the Nathula road
After breakfast, drive to the glacial Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft) and Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir. Nathula Pass can be added at extra cost, subject to permit availability and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Return to Gangtok for the night.
Day 3
Gangtok to Lachen
Drive north via Kabi Lungchok, Seven Sisters Waterfall, Naga Falls and the Chungthang confluence to the alpine village of Lachen (8,800 ft). Early dinner and an early night, because tomorrow starts before dawn.
Day 4
Gurudongmar Lake, then on to Lachung
Leave around 4:30 am for Gurudongmar Lake (17,800 ft) through the Thangu Valley. Return to Lachen for breakfast, then transfer to Lachung (8,600 ft) for the night.
Day 5
Yumthang Valley and Zero Point, back to Gangtok
Morning excursion to the Yumthang Valley of Flowers and the hot springs. Zero Point at 15,300 ft is optional and weather-dependent. Drive back to Gangtok by evening.
Day 6
Departure
After breakfast, transfer back to NJP or Bagdogra with a packed set of memories. Tour ends.
